The history of the Lacloche house can be traced back to 1892 when it was founded, in Paris, by the “Lacloche Frères”. Leopold, Jacques, Jules, and Fernand Lacloche were not jewelers; their father was engaged in the textile business. Nonetheless, these four brothers succeeded in transforming the Lacloche name into one of the most wondrous jewelry brands of the 20th century. For this, they chose the best jewelry pieces, worked with top-ranking designers, engaged some of the best workshops and suppliers in Paris; aiming to enhance the Lacloche name. The brand successfully emerged in 1901. It experienced a break-up, change in address, and name; the new name was Lacloche and Gompers.
By 1912, the business experienced a prosperous turn and a boutique was established in London’s opulent Bond Street where high-end jewelry is sold alongside various items of jewelry. The brand participated in the 1925 Paris Exposition des Art Décoratifs; acquiring recognition and winning the Grand Prix for their display of gorgeous jewelry. Till 1929, the house enjoyed the fruits of its success in creating magnificent jewelry pieces; owing to the ingenuity of superior craftsmen, like Louis Girard. But this triumph was mostly attributed to the great recession which eventually ended in 1935.
